Scott McLaughlin had a disastrous practice experience with the Indy 500 on Sunday. His car went into the air after being slammed against the truck wall just before Paul Day's qualifying.
The video showed the car slipping off and spinning across the truck after a violent collision with the wall before it finally stopped. McLaughlin is not the first driver to turn over.

McLaughlin was able to come out of the wreckage and appeared to avoid serious injuries.
McLaughlin received a medical evaluation. Shortly after he was released from the care center, he said he was “good.” He also offered Team Penske an apology.

“Yeah, I'm fine,” McLaughlin said. “I'm really, really sorry to everyone at Team Penske, the #3 cars, and everyone who makes these great cars. It (the car) was talking to me and I felt it, so maybe I should have backed back. I'm grateful for Indycar, safety, my team, safer barriers and all that.
Shortly before the crash, McLaughlin managed to push towards the top of the charts with a fast 12 practice. The tragic moment happened on Turn 2 on Sunday.

The safer barrier also caused considerable damage.
McLaughlin, last year's Indy 500 pole sitter, will not be competing in Fast 12 qualifying. Therefore, McLaughlin's official start position on the Indy 500 Grid will be 12th.
The Indy 500 will air on Fox on May 25th, with pre-covers starting at 10am. You can also stream live on foxsports.com and the Fox Sports app.
