Colton Hertha was caught up in a horrifying crash during Saturday's Indianapolis 500 qualifying.
He lost control of his car and entered turns 1 and 2 at 236 mph when he revved. The No. 26 car hit a front end on a backstretch wall. He drove backwards, and Hertha's car went into the air and turned over.

The car went down the backstretch and proceeded to turns 3 and 4. I was clung to the wall before I stopped.
Hertha was able to get out of the car and get away from the horrifying accident.
“I'm fine. Luckily today, these crashes seem scarier than I feel,” Hertha told Fox Sports after leaving the emergency medical centre. “I'm not saying it feels good, but I think the team will work hard right now as they prepare a backup car, and I don't think it's possible to put it out today.

“It's a scary day when this happens. …We were so happy with the car this morning and were lax and we couldn't even get to get a lap one.
As of Saturday, Hertha was 16-1 shot and scored the Indy 500.
Herta has won nine wins in his IndyCar series career. He last finished the 2024 season in Nashville. He recorded three top-10 finishes this year and one top-5 finish.
He will be in the ninth in the Indy 500 in the ranking of points. He was seventh in Indy last season.
