The White House is ushering in a new era with the election of Usha Vance, the first Indian-American second lady, to President Trump for a second term.
Vance, the daughter of Indian immigrants, will be the first Hindu second lady.
Vice President-elect J.D. Vance praised his “beautiful wife for making this possible” after the big win.
“Thank you! To my beautiful wife for making this possible. To President Donald J. Trump for giving me the opportunity to serve my country at this level. And to the American people, for their trust, I thank you all. I will never stop fighting for you.”

The lawyer married JD in 2014 and they have three children, sons Ewan (6 years old) and Vivek (4 years old), and daughter Mirabel (2 years old).
Before attending law school, Vance earned a BA in history from Yale University and an MA in philosophy from the University of Cambridge.

After graduating from Yale University, she completed several clerkships, including for Chief Justice John Roberts and Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his tenure on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, Axios reported.

Vance made headlines at the Republican National Committee in July.
“My background is very different from JD's. I grew up in a middle-class community in San Diego with two loving parents who are immigrants from India and a wonderful sister,” she said. . “The fact that JD and I were able to meet, let alone fall in love and get married is a testament to this great country.”
