Jason Kelce may no longer be throwing the ball to Jalen Hurts, but the two former Philadelphia Eagles teammates still have a lot of affection for one another.
Kelce, who now covers pre- and post-game coverage as part of ESPN's “Monday Night Countdown” crew, returned to Philadelphia for the Eagles-Atlanta Falcons game and interviewed Hurts for a heartfelt conversation.
Kelsey began the one-on-one interview by asking Hurts, “Do you miss me?”

“Yes,” he replied with a smile, and Kelsey shared her joy, “I miss you.”
But Hurts not only missed Kelce, he detailed why he respects how Kelce helped him when he entered the league in 2020 as the Eagles' second-round draft pick.
“What I admired so much about you was you had so much to do,” Hurts said. “You have so much to do, so much responsibility, but you always did it for the person next to you. And that's the one thing I'll always admire about you, because it's all about being in that position and being at the center. Setting the table in so many different areas.”

“The underdog mentality, the underdog story, all of that.”
“I know,” Kelce acknowledged the former quarterback's comments, and Hurts concluded his tribute to the six-time All-Pro by saying, “I love you.”
“I love you too,” Kelsey replied to Harts.
Kelce went on to talk about Eagles new recruit Saquon Barkley and how he's getting used to his new city and teammates, and why last week's “tush push” play didn't work.

Quarterback sneaks are a staple for the Eagles, but Kelce, who used to sneak into opponents' territory to help Hurts gain crucial short yards, told Hurts he no longer misses the play where he sneaks into the defensive line.
After the interview, Kelce and Hurts embraced and another “I love you” was heard between them, but Kelce had to come to his senses after telling the quarterback to “take control.”
“Don't be controlling. I'm independent,” Kelsey said with a laugh.
“Fuck that. I know what time it is,” Hertz replied.

Kelce may be in a media world where the goal is to always remain neutral, but when you're just leaving the team you played for 13 seasons in the NFL, it's hard not to root for your former teammate.
