Jalen Milroe is currently the veteran quarterback in the University of Alabama locker room.
Milroe helped the Crimson Tide win the SEC Championship and then narrowly fell to eventual champion Michigan in the Rose Bowl (the College Football Playoff semi-finals), but expectations are high for Milroe to play another season.
Alabama has played four straight seasons since winning its last national championship, a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence for the city, and is currently on its longest titleless streak since going from 1993-2008 without one.

Now in his second year as a starter, Milroe feels much more ready to perform on the big stage, something he more than delivered last year.
“The biggest thing is, I want to go into Game 1 this year more prepared and more confident than I was last year. Looking back on last season, the best thing I can do is break everything down into two pillars — strengths and weaknesses — and have the time in the offseason to work on that,” Milroe said in a recent interview with Fox News Digital. “I'm working hard every day. I'm very excited about what the future has in store. The goal is for the team to win honors and how we grow as a team. That's going to be a big part of this journey.”

Milroe, of course, wants to finish the journey with a win, but in a newly strengthened SEC (welcome additions like Texas and Oklahoma), Milroe said the team will need to slow down a bit to get to the promised land.
“I think we have to be careful right now. We're not at our best right now,” Milroe said. “The first game shouldn't be our best game of the season. Not the second game, not the third game, not the fourth game. Every game we have to get better and try to go 1-0.”

“But we can't look too far ahead. We can only look at the present, because it's what we can control now that will make us successful.”
