The fiasco was yet another demoralizing moment for a Jets organization that had already gone through massive changes and was hoping to avoid a six-game slump.
“Honestly, I'm definitely frustrated and angry at the same time,” interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said of his state of mind after the play.
“But it's a great opportunity for this kid to grow and learn. I promise you, 10 years from now, when he's still playing in this league, that won't happen again.”

When asked about his message to the young receiver in the postgame presser, Ulbrich was candid.

Thankfully for the Jets, that mistake led to Garrett Wilson's 26-yard go-ahead touchdown catch early in the fourth quarter, drawing comparisons to Odell Beckham Jr.'s iconic one-handed catch in 2014. So, the shadow became thinner.
