Malachi Coley was literally an inch away from scoring his first career touchdown.
Instead, he committed a turnover.
The New York Jets game started in typical Jets fashion. In the first three plays, Aaron Rodgers beat Davante Adams, Breece Hall dropped a pass, and Rodgers was sacked.
It can't get any worse than this, right? Wrong.

On the ensuing defense, the Jets committed a roughing-the-kicker penalty on 4th-and-21, extending overtime.
OK, that's for sure, right? no!
Rookie Corey took a pitch from Rodgers, found open field, and scored a touchdown without being touched by his front blockers.
There was just one problem. He gave up the ball just before the goal line.
While the Jets were celebrating what appeared to be a touchdown, the referee went to review the play and confirmed that Corey had dropped the ball too soon. Therefore, this play was a touchback.
The Jets selected Corey from Western Kentucky in the third round of this year's draft, but he hasn't been used as much as fans expected.

It seems like he lost his chance just as quickly as he got it.
It's been a tough battle for the Jets, who have lost five straight after starting the season with two wins and one loss. Rodgers looked like a 40-year-old recovering from an Achilles injury, and he and his best friend Adams hadn't been on the same page since Adams landed in New York.
But they still entered Thursday night as the favorites, considering they were home against a depleted Houston Texans without Nico Collins and Stefon Diggs.
