John Elway's longtime agent, business partner and friend Jeff Sperbeck passed away after being involved in a serious crash, including a golf cart. Sperbeck was 62.
Former Denver Broncos quarterback Elway reportedly drove a car during the fatal accident.
The Riverside County (Calif.) Coroner confirmed Sperbeck died April 30 at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California. The injury had occurred in nearby La Quinta four days ago.

On Friday, the coroner's office contingently ruled Sperbeck's death, saying he died as a result of a blunt head injury.
“The cause of death is “blunt head injuries”, the method of death is “an accident”, and the mode of death (how the injury occurred) is “a passenger from the golf cart fell.”

Last week, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco revealed that investigators discovered “nothing” suggesting that criminal activity occurred during the incident. “This seems like a horrible accident,” Bianco told The Post, and “the couple of people involved in the incident” “occasionally are very well-known celebrities,” Bianco told The Denver Post.
“And that's probably more of a problem than it should have,” Bianco noted at the time that his department had undergone a “massive media investigation” after the news broke. “We're doing everything we can to make sure this is what it seems to be, and it's just an accident,” he added.

Elway issued a statement on April 30, stating that he was “grief.”
“I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken by the death of my best friend, business partner and agent Jeff Sperbeck,” Elway said in a statement via ESPN. “There are no words that truly express the deep sadness I feel in the sudden loss of someone that means so much to me.”
