“This is not normal.”
D-Minn. Senator Amy Klobuchar's words are undoubtedly true after Wisconsin Judge Hannah Dugan's arrest. However, the reason why it's not normal is much more controversial. Dugan has been accused of becoming a law violation in trying to block federal authorities' efforts to arrest a man they wanted. If it's true, it's clearly not “normal.”
As soon as news of the arrest was reported, Democrats declared another constitutional crisis. Klobuchar added that the arrest is “a dramatic move that threatens the rule of law” and that “takes a serious step and undermines the system of checks and balance.”
Unless Klobuchar believes the officers are lying, that's a strange claim. Otherwise, Klobuchar suggests not to take the judges liable for actively protecting those in need and promoting avoidance of law enforcement.

Senator Tina Smith (D-Minn.) also believes that if FBI directors Kash Patel and Donald Trump don't like judges, they can arrest them. I think this is spectacular. We have to stand up to this glove of explicit power.
But what is the “red line” of a judge if the allegations are true? The judge is accused of conduct that led to the charges of other citizens. The judicial robe is not any form of invisible cloak that allows a judge to engage in suspected criminal conduct.
Wisconsin media reports:
Sources told Sentinel magazine that ICE officials had arrived at Dugan's courtroom on the morning of April 18th. When they went to the Supreme Court's office, Dugan directed the accused and his lawyers to the doors on the side of the courtroom, pointing them towards the private corridor and public areas on the sixth floor.
If so, it would be an aggressive effort to help suspects performing legitimate functions eliminate police.

According to criminal charges, Lewis allegedly attacked the three after arguing with his roommate about playing big music. Flores Lewis allegedly attacked his roommate about 30 times with his closed fist, attacking his girlfriend and third party. Some of the injuries required hospital treatment.
Police evasion in court led officers to demand that Lewis be pursued.
This is not the first time a judge has been accused of participating or directing such obstruction.
I previously wrote about the case of Massachusetts Judge Shelley M. Richmond Joseph, whose illegal immigrants allegedly accused of avoiding ice agents in April 2018. Court officers Joseph and Wesley McGregor were charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice, obstruct justice, aid and obstacles and obstruct federal government progress.
I was critical of the handling of the incident. Joseph was suspended for three years, but in 2022 the charges were dropped during the Biden administration.
The Dugan lawsuit coincides with a New Mexico judge being arrested for having illegal immigrants and suspected TDA gangs.

Doña Ana County Magistrate Judge Joel Cano and his wife were arrested Thursday. In particular, Cano reportedly admitted to an officer that he broke Christian Ortega Lopez's phone after the 23-year-old was arrested in an assault at a judge's house.

As I said last night on the Fox News Channel, I am perplexed by Democrats rushing to condemn Dugan's arrest before I know if these allegations are supported. If she escorts the suspect to a private door to promote his escape, the act is a shocking abandonment of judicial ethics. She can certainly use her authority to properly address the issue before her in the form of a judicial order, but actively supporting her escape is far beyond the pale.
I often criticized reckless rhetoric against judges, including those who ruled the Trump administration. When we ask these often difficult questions, we need to maintain courtesy and respect.

However, it works in both ways. Judges must strengthen judicial respect in their own actions. This involves showing restraint and respect in relation to the rebellious powers of the administrative department. Certainly, it involves avoiding actions that could be considered unethical or criminal in resisting this regime.
That's also a “red line.”
