Indiana Fever rookie phenom Caitlin Clark has experienced plenty of bruises and scratches throughout her first WNBA season, and she suffered a bit of a nasty injury in Wednesday night's win over the Connecticut Sun.
In the third quarter, Clark was chasing a Suns player when University of Connecticut center Alyssa Thomas intercepted and brought down the ball on the perimeter.
Clark made contact with Thomas' right shoulder and was slammed hard to the court.

The whistle was quickly blown for an offensive foul on Thomas, but it was just a routine foul.
Clark has been the victim of flagrant fouls this season, both of which came against the Chicago Sky.
WNBA great Sue Bird says Caitlin Clark is a playoff nightmare for other teams, “a nuisance to everyone else.”
The first was a highly publicized check by Chennedy Carter in early June, when Carter knocked Clark to the floor and it was initially ruled a standard foul, but the WNBA later upgraded it to a flagrant foul.
Carter defended it after the game, calling it a “basketball play.”
Then, in another game against the Fever this season, Carter's teammate, Angel Reese, another rookie star, hit Clark in the head as he attempted a block. Clark again slammed him to the ground and, after a review, Reese was called for a flagrant foul.

Like Carter, Reese said he was just playing basketball.
Clark broke the WNBA rookie record for most 3-pointers made in a single season in the first quarter on Wednesday, drilling a 26-foot step-back shot over DiJonai Carrington's head for her first points of the game.
Clark broke the WNBA rookie record this season, while the Fever came away with a hard-fought 84-80 win over the Sun.
