Caitlin Clark was not included in the list of 100 Most Influential Time Magazines of 2025, released on Wednesday.
Clark was off the list despite the fact that the publication was named 2024 Athlete of the Year.
Other athletes were also on Wednesday's “most influential” list, including WNBA players Breanna Stewart and Naphisa Collier. The main premise of Stewart and Collier's position on the list is the recent launch of the “unparalleled” women's basketball league as co-founders.
Other athletes on the list formed US gymnast Simone Biles, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and Super Bowl LIX MVP Jalen Hurts and French Olympic gold medalist swimmer Leon Marchand.
Clark's absence from the list prompted questions and criticism from fans and critics.
Fox Sports host Colin Cowherd brought awareness to Snubs when he ranted a rant during the show Wednesday.

“It's ridiculous! That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen!” Cowhard said. “That's a stupid list… She's the most influential athlete. She claims to be a man or woman in America last year.”
Other social media users have agreed to Cowherd's take.
“Clark is the main reason the league is so popular and she isn't on the list,” wrote one X user.
Another user asked, “How… did she rule out this list (?)!”

Clark's impact on the popularity of women's basketball last year is evident in various statistics.
Clark became the WNBA most viewed team in the WNBA by landslide in the newcomer year, as it included everything in the 14 most viewed WNBA games of the season. On top of that, she broke records with most All-Star votes for every player in WNBA history.
In early September, Clark's Indiana Fever played in front of a television audience of 1.26 million viewers in a game against the Minnesota Links, which was played at the same time as the weekly Friday night NFL game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers.
In Clark's first regular-season finale against Washington's mystics on September 19, 20,711 fans who appeared at Capital One Arena set a new record for the best WNBA regular-season contest.
Clark competed against NFL Sunday, drawing a WNBA record audience of 1.84 million viewers in his first playoff game against the Connecticut Sun on September 22nd. She followed it with another record audience of 2.54 million viewers for Game 2.

However, after Clark's fever season ended, the WNBA playoffs brought a sharp decline in viewers.
The first game between Ace and Liberty was last year's WNBA Finals rematch between the two most popular successful teams in the league, attracting just 929,000 audiences.
Meanwhile, in women's college basketball, the sport saw a sharp drop in ratings this year after Clark played in his first women's NCAA title game in 2024 to gain more viewers than the boys.
With Clark not in the tournament, the UConn vs UCLA and South Carolina vs Texas broadcasts averaged 3.9 million viewers on ESPN. According to Front Office Sports, it was down 64% from its 2024 record-setting 10.8 million viewers.
