Kelly Stafford said Thursday she was relieved after the Los Angeles Rams agreed to a restructured deal with Super Bowl champion Matthew Stafford last week, but for Kelly, it wasn't always a smooth voyage in Stafford's home.
On the latest episode of her podcast, The Morning After, Kelly discusses his new contract with her husband. Regarding his new contract, he didn't extend his time with the Rams beyond his former extension, but he significantly increased his salary in his last two seasons.

Kelly, who previously discussed speculation about potential trade, said he was pleased to know that Stafford would remain with the Rams.

“Holy s —I'm so happy that we are here,” she said Thursday.
“He's very good at distinguishing everything,” Kelly said of her husband. “On the other hand, when I say you think about uncertainty all the time you go crazy, I did an f – I've become so crazy.”
Following the end of the 2024 season, speculation began to build around Stafford's future with the Rams. The first report showed that the team was hesitant to renegotiate the four-year, $160 million contract extension that it signed in 2022.

The team even reported that Stafford has allowed him to shop for his value in the league.

However, last Friday, the team announced that both sides had agreed to a restructured deal. Details of the deal have not been revealed yet, but coach Sean McVay made it clear that the deal did not add an extra year to the contract.
“I praise him for that,” Kelly said of McVay's transparency with Stafford. “I just wanted to make sure he was good for everyone and I was grateful for it.”
“I know all you want to do is play for (McVay). I think the uncertainty has killed me in many ways, but at the end of the day, what I want is best for you.”

“This is where we wanted to be both of us and we are pleased to be able to play for the team and coaches he wants to end his career,” she added.
Stafford passed 3,762 yards and 20 touchdowns last season for the Rams. He won 10-7 to NFC West and reached the playoff divisional round after losing to the ultimate Super Bowl champion.
During the contract negotiations, the New York giant was floating as a potential trading partner.
