NBA champion Kendrick Perkins won his turn with critical comments about LeBron James following an interview with Los Angeles Lakers star Pat McAfee.
Perkins, who won the championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008, complained of James' complaints about how the league was covered. The Lakers player started podcasts at JJ Reddick on McAfee because the reporting “departs from the essence of the basketball game.”

“He needs to stop. LeBron James needs to stop. I'm so tired of him. 'Oh, the league's covered way,' he wanted to cover it, so the former NBA center said in “the first take.”
“This is with LeBron.
“And I'm a big LeBron fan. …The problem I have is everything that comes out of LeBron James' mouth. 2025, we're in 2025, it's a different era.

Perkins noted that past stars, including Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and Allen Iverson, have all been heavily criticised while they played, and today's media is no exception.
“In today's game, these players are very sensitive. They're so sensitive that they just don't care.”
He added that when players join the league, they will sign up for the good and bad criticism that comes with it.

Perkins played in the NBA for 14 seasons. The last one came in 2017-18 when he appeared in one game for the Cleveland Cavaliers. James was also on the roster, and the team lost to the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.
