The Detroit Lions defeated the Dallas Cowboys 47-9 on the road Sunday, turning heads with the rest of the NFL and establishing themselves as one of the league's best teams.
The Lions started attacking on all cylinders, scoring on each drive before taking a knee and going to the locker room at halftime. One of those scores included a nifty flea flicker for a 52-yard touchdown pass from Jared Goff to Sam LaPorta. That was part of a 20-point second quarter to give them some breathing room against Dallas.

Detroit still gave it their all after halftime. Goff led the Lions on a five-play, 70-yard touchdown drive that ended with Goff's touchdown pass to wide receiver Jameson Williams, a 37-yard throw-and-catch.
The Lions went on to score from there and won 47-9. The defense sacked quarterback Dak Prescott four times and forced him to throw two interceptions.
Detroit entered the Week 6 matchup with a bye week and two weeks removed from Goff's perfect game. He had a near-perfect performance against Dallas, completing 18 of 25 for 315 passing yards and three touchdown passes. Amon-Ra St. Brown caught another point in the fourth quarter.

Five Lions receivers had at least three catches, and even a Lions receiver had at least one catch. Williams led the way with three receptions for 76 yards. Kalife Raymond had four catches for 73 yards and St. Brown had four catches for 37 yards.
David Montgomery ran for 80 yards and two touchdowns for the Lions in the game. Jahmil Gibbs added 63 yards on the ground.
The atmosphere was good thanks to the win, but the Lions' defense took a big hit when Aidan Hutchinson suffered a serious foot injury in the third quarter, putting their season in jeopardy. He led the league in sacks entering the game, recording one of Prescott's four sacks.
The Cowboys didn't make any moves on offense.
Prescott was 17 of 33 for 178 yards before being ejected by Cooper Rush. CeeDee Lamb had seven catches for 89 yards.
Brian Branch and Kirby Joseph each had interceptions off Prescott. Branch also picked off Rush late in the game.
