The game wasn't very good offensively for either team, but it was the Detroit Lions who overcame some turnovers to narrowly come out victorious.
The Lions improved to 8-1 on the year, while the Texans fell to 6-4.
The game, plagued by turnovers, turned into a thriller in the fourth quarter, with the Lions gaining the upper hand and going into the second half with a 23-7 lead. As fans know by now, Dan Campbell's team never gives up.

With the game tied at 23, Texans kicker Kaimi Fairbairn missed a field goal from 58 yards out, and Lions kicker Jake Bates tied the game with a field goal from the same distance. I couldn't regain the lead. Bates' kick was the third longest kick in Lions history.
This gave Jared Goff and the Lions offense great field position with less than two minutes to go until they charged down the field for the win.
A key third-down catch by Amon-Ra St. Brown gained 11 yards and the Lions were in Houston's territory, forcing Bates to attempt another kick as time expired for the win.

The ball started moving to the left with 52 yards remaining, but he persevered and grabbed the victory.
While Goff struggled to keep the ball in the Lions' hands, Detroit's defense deserves a lot of credit for keeping C.J. Stroud and the Texans offense from scoring in the second half.
The third quarter was the sloppiest the two great quarterbacks had the ball all season, trading interceptions throughout the entire 15 minutes.
The first play of the second half was a pass to Tank Dell that was intercepted by Stroud, allowing Carlton Davis to step forward and give Detroit what it needed to get back in the game.
But three plays later, Goff sent an airmail to LaPorta, and Kamari Lassiter brought it in at the 1-yard line.
The Lions were able to maintain possession the next time they got the ball, and David Montgomery punched it into the end zone from three yards out to make it 23-13. However, interceptions started happening again, and Stroud's interception turned out to be significant, as it appeared to put Dell in the end zone for one of the easiest touchdowns in the NFL.

But Davis pounced on a lofted pass from Stroud for a touchback.
But no, Goff's deep ball to Jameson Williams never came close to being completed, so the Lions were unable to retain possession again. This was his fifth interception of the game, setting a new career high.
But the Lions defense kept picking off Goff and forced several punts until St. Brown got inside the color paint and closed out the lead by three points.
Goff's turnover problems started right away in this game. On the fifth play of the game, Goff was picked off when Jimmy Ward picked off a pass to Jermil Gibbs.
Stroud and the Texans offense took advantage of a turnover on the opening drive as Joe Mixon, who rushed for 46 yards on 25 carries, found the end zone from eight yards to go.
Fairbairn's field goal made it 10-0 late in the first quarter, but the Lions finally made something happen on their third shot of the game.

A deep pass to Williams, who was returning from a PED suspension, traveled 23 yards, moving the chains on third-and-16 and stopping a Lions punt. Goff took advantage and found tight end Sam LaPorta for a 20-yard touchdown to make it 10-7.
However, after Fairbairn made another field goal to make it 13-7, the Texans defense began to trouble Goff.
One of the strangest interceptions was when Goff tried to throw a short pass to LaPorta, and the ball pinballed in the air until Henry Tootoo'o pulled it off at the Lions' 36-yard line.
Then, after consecutive three-and-outs for Detroit, Stroud found the end zone again, this time throwing a strike to John Metchie III from 15 yards out and starting to blow the door open at the end of the first half. 23-7.
But while Stroud completed 19-of-33 for 232 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, he couldn't muster anything in the second half to earn a win at home.
