The real tragedy following the meeting between President Trump and Vice President Zelensky and Vice President Vance last week is not just that the elliptical office altercation has derailed peace efforts that may have stopped the killings in the Ukraine-Russian war, but that many are still trying to stop the war from coming to an end.
why? Because they hate President Trump more than love peace.
The good news is that nausea between Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky took European leaders to the table. Their increased commitment to defense could bring the proposed peace agreement closer.
That's not how Trump critics see it. Of course, they condemn the president's rupture.

Obama and Biden's holdovers from the White House, such as former deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes, former UN ambassador Susan Rice and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, have criticised Trump's peace proposal, but they don't want the president to succeed as the ceasefire contract highlights their failures. Obama's team allowed Russia to slice Crimea and break into other parts of Ukraine with zero penalties, allowing Putin to attack again.
Biden's group failed to prevent Russia's 2022 invasion and did not develop a plan to end the war. They never actually talked about winning. Even the unfortunate crew knew that Ukraine could never beat Russia. At best they wanted a deadlock. But that modest goal proved elusive as Ukraine gradually and inevitably lost its territory.
Democrats don't want Trump to end the war. Because they know that shutting down the massacre and our money outflow is very popular with voters. Almost certainly, the peace agreement will help the GOP maintain control of Congress next year.
Never-Trumpers hates the idea of success because they bet on the guy who won the popularity poll against the odds last year. Liz Cheney, who posted to X that Trump was “busy about surrendering to the KGB butcher,” doesn't want Trump to win. Opposing the 45th President sacrifices Cheney's political career. Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski – Trump state won 10 points – claiming that the oval office “had made her stomach sick.” Defeating the president almost certainly would end her career.
Connecticut Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy claims the White House is “the Kremlin arm.” He is eager to become the next big thing for the leaderless Democrats despite the strong approval rate of the president, and strangely positions himself as an extreme anti-Turmaper.
Murphy and other Democrats reportedly met with Zelensky ahead of the oval office gathering and mentored him to oppose the proposed deal. They have blood in their hands.
Some have held President Trump and Vice President JD Vance responsible. However, it cannot be denied that the White House team gathered in an oval office is ready to sign a ceasefire with Russia and a deal that will ultimately lead to peace. He had signed an agreement in the first half of Europe, but insisted on traveling to the White House to enter into an agreement.
But then…Zelenskyy wanted to associate the deal in front of the media. This wasn't clever.
Ironically, an explosion in an oval office might achieve President Trump's major ambitions. There have already been progress. NATO reports: “In the past decade, European allies and Canada have steadily increased from 1.43% of total GDP in 2014 to 2.02% in 2024.”

Starmer, who recently met with President Trump, believes the US president's commitment to peace is “completely sincere,” but in itself, says that mineral trade does not guarantee Ukraine's security. He added support and boots to the ground. If France and Germany also step up, there could be a comprehensive and strong agreement.
The proposal from President Trump involves the United States, which partners with Ukraine to exploit the country's minerals and rare earths, and has been described as an “elegant” solution by Treasury Secretary Becent. Achieve these objectives.
This partnership will allow us to develop valuable resources in Ukraine. Ukraine cannot manage such businesses on its own. The US can offer both. The large sums of money from mining and production of these resources can be used not only to repay US taxpayers, but also to repair Ukraine, which was crushed in the war for three years. Congress continues their lead. The slave-wide US investment in Ukraine prevents Vladimir Putin from invading the country. It's a backstop that trade critics refuse to acknowledge. However, European peacekeeping forces add more protection. This arrangement provides US security without putting your boots on the ground.
The proposed scheme has the additional advantage of reducing dependence on China. Democrats quickly denounce Trump for his support of Putin, but few have explained why Joe Biden insisted on an energy dictator that clearly deepens his dependence on China. Pushing the US against electric vehicles and solar panels meant growing imports of key materials from our number one enemy. Being able to source some of these materials from friendly countries would be a victory.

Trump's proposal makes sense, but European involvement makes it more reliable and immediate. An oval office brawl can ultimately lead to peace.
Everyone needs to board.
