The NFL has been a big part of Norv Turner's life for decades. During his coaching career, Turner spent the 2004 and 2005 seasons as the head coach of the Raiders franchise.
On Tuesday, the team announced that Turner plans to rejoin the organization. He will serve in a senior advisory role during his second term. Turner's return announcement came amid a five-game losing streak that led to major changes to the Raiders' coaching staff.
Turner's son, Scott, was also named offensive coordinator for the Raiders. Scott previously served as the team's passing game coordinator. Meanwhile, Joe Philbin will be named interim offensive line coach. The team recently parted ways with offensive coordinator Luke Getsy and offensive line coach James Clegg.
