On the eve of the 2025 Super Bowl, it was reported that Travis Kelse was considering retirement, and what happened in the big game could affect his decision.
The Kansas City Chiefs' three-peat dreams have disappeared, and Kelse announced that they will return for the 2025 season.
Not to mention Kelse is nearing the end of his career.
He posted career lows for yards and touchdowns, and in his second consecutive season, he failed to create an All-Pro team by doing so for the eighth consecutive year.

He also spent two consecutive seasons without covering the 1,000-yard mark to receive the yards.
“If that's the last ride, you'll never know,” Mahomes told reporters on Thursday at Chiefs Practice. “The way he talks about football, the way he talks about his job this year and what he's trying to do better than last year doesn't look like a guy like he's tired of his job and what he's trying to do.”

Kelse, 35, initially said that in regards to his decision to retire, “I can do everything I can down the road.” But in the end, “I love playing soccer games.”
“I still feel I can play at a higher level than last year, and perhaps at a higher level, and I don't think that's my best outing.
“Especially when you look at my track record and how I went years ago. I want it to be a good run. I have a bad taste in my mouth about the end of the year and how well I was and how well it was for the people around me.

“I don't want to leave that life yet. I put a lot of effort into it and I have a lot of focus on what I can do at KC. Last year, it didn't work for us.
