The New York Mets tied the game against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series, winning another Grand Slam postseason game.
The Mets defeated the Dodgers 7-3, largely due to Mark Vientos hitting a grand slam in the top of the second inning that helped New York establish a solid cushion.
Francisco Lindor hit a grand slam in the game against the Philadelphia Phillies, who won Game 4 against the Mets and advanced to the playoffs.

In the first inning, Lindor hit a solo home run to put the Mets ahead, but in the next inning, Tyrone Taylor hit a double into the left field seats, scoring Starling Marte, making it 2-0.
The Dodgers then decided to intentionally walk Lindor and load the bases so that Dodgers pitcher Landon Knack could go right-to-right with Vientos.

But it was no use. Vientos struggled until Knack threw a fastball up the middle, and without missing a beat, sent the ball over the right-center wall.
Vientos, a 24-year-old rookie who set a franchise record with nine hits in the National League, was exactly what the team needed and gave the team some momentum after losing Game 1, 9-0, to the Dodgers.
The Dodgers had a bullpen game in this game, but the Mets sent out Sean Manaea to set things up on the mound, and Manaea did just that, pitching two runs in five innings and striking out seven against New York. Ta.

The big left-hander has been stable in New York, but his command was a little off today as he allowed four walks to Dodgers batters. But he and the Mets eventually got out of that predicament, especially when Phil Mayton, replacing Manaea, grounded out Enrique Hernandez into a double play in the bottom of the sixth inning with the bases loaded.
Looking further into the box score, veteran outfielder Starling Marte may be breaking out of his cold slump, adding insurance with 3 hits for 5, 1 run and an RBI in the top of the 9th inning. As a team, the Mets have 10 hits to the Dodgers' five, which is usually the secret to success.
For the Dodgers, Shohei Ohtani went 0-for-3 with two walks and Freddie Freeman went 0-for-5 as he continues to battle an injury. Tommy Edman was the only Dodgers hitter the Mets couldn't figure out, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
