Las Vegas – Saturday night was okay for Max Verstappen.
The Red Bull racer finished fifth at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, good enough to win his fourth consecutive F1 World Championship.
To win the title, he needed to finish ahead of McLaren's Lando Norris, which he accomplished admirably. Norris was sixth.

It wasn't exactly an easy weekend for Verstappen. Red Bull made a mistake in adjusting his rear wing and data showed his car was running slower on the straights than Mercedes' George Russell and Lewis Hamilton. While Russell took pole position, Verstappen drove well enough to start fifth. He only needed to score three points more than Norris to win the world championship. Norris qualified in 6th place.
Mercedes was clearly faster. Russell won the race. It was his second win of the season. Hamilton finished just behind him, with Ferrari's Carlos Sainz rounding out the podium in third place.

Verstappen joins Sebastian Vettel, Juan Manuel Fangio and Hamilton in winning their fourth consecutive championship. Michael Schumacher won five consecutive races from 2000 to 2004.
Schumacher and Hamilton have each won the most world titles, with seven in total. Fangio had five, while Verstappen was tied with Vettel and Alain Prost on four.

Racers at the Las Vegas Grand Prix had to battle cold and wind all weekend. During the first three practices, the drivers were slipping and sliding all over the place. However, despite increasing his pace in qualifying, the only mistake was made by Franco Colapinto, who crashed in Q2.
Other than Pierre Gasly's disappointing night on Saturday, the race was cleanly run.
There are two races remaining on F1's schedule, the Qatar Grand Prix and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, with the constructors' championship at stake.
Ferrari's Sainz and Charles Leclerc were third and fourth, followed by McLaren's Norris and Oscar Piastri in sixth and seventh.
