Mexican officials said Wednesday that the families of 17 drug cartel leaders had travelled to the United States last week as part of a contract between the son of the former Sinaloa Cartel leader and the son of the Trump administration.
Mexican security secretary Omar Garcia Halfucci confirmed a report by independent journalist Luis Chaparo that the family of Obigio Guzman Lopez has entered Lopez, USA, the son of imprisoned Sinaloa Cartel boss Joaquin El Cha Cha Cha Cha Guzman.
Among the families allowed in the US was Guzman's ex-wife, Griselda Lopez Perez.

In a radio interview, Garcia Halfucci said it was clear that the contract was made during negotiations between Guzman Lopez and the US government.
“It's clear that his family will go to the US for negotiations or for offers the Department of Justice giving him,” Garcia Halfucci said.
None of the family was pursued by Mexican authorities.
Video footage posted online by the Spanish outlet radio formula on Tuesday shows Guzman's family carrying luggage waiting to be processed at the Tijuana/San Diego border intersection. They reportedly packed $70,000 in cash.

The confirmation by Garcia Halfucci came on the same day that U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondy's office announced that many cartel leaders would accused “narcoterrorism” since the Trump administration declared many cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.
“You're no longer a hunter, you're a hunt,” U.S. lawyer Adam Gordon, a US lawyer for the Southern District of California, said, “To the leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel, you're no longer a hunter, you're a hunter.” “You will be betrayed by your friends, you will be troubled by your enemies, and you will eventually find yourself and your face here in court in the Southern District of California.”
Guzman Lopez, 35, also known as “Mouse,” is one of four Guzman's sons known as “Los Chapitos,” and ran the Sinaloa cartel in the absence of his father. At his peak, Elder Guzman was one of the world's most powerful drug traffickers, transforming the Sinaloan cartel into a major force, turning one of the largest groups responsible for illegal drugs into the United States.
