However, as Tyson prepares for his first professional fight in nearly 20 years, he revealed that his health scare earlier this year was actually a near-death experience.
Tyson posted to X on Saturday afternoon, revealing that he went to the hospital with an ulcer and almost died.

In the Netflix documentary series leading up to the Paul-Tyson fight, the 58-year-old former world heavyweight champion talks about what happened on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles in late May.
“A week and a half ago, I was training and feeling good, and all of a sudden I started feeling tired,” Tyson said in the documentary. “I was explaining to my trainer that I didn't know what was wrong with me. I flew here from Miami and went to the bathroom and threw up blood. The next thing I knew, I was on the floor. It was sitting there, excreting tar.”

Tyson was eventually cleared to return to training, where he stated that he needed to gain back the weight he lost and continue to strengthen his endurance.
Despite what fans and critics called the bout a downer on social media, Tyson continued to fight Paul for all eight two-minute rounds, with Paul ultimately winning by unanimous decision. It became.
