The New England Patriots have won six Super Bowl titles, but in recent years the Patriots have experienced more losses than victory.
New England finished with a record of losing four of the last five seasons. Mike Vrabel, who played the patriot linebacker for eight seasons and won three Super Bowls with his team, is tasked with turning the franchise he once proud of.
During play day Vrabel learned what it takes to reach great heights in the NFL. This week, the first year patriot coach laid out what he expects from his players.

As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, the Patriots are launching their offseason program. Some key points from Vrabel's first formal address for the team earlier this week have since been circulated on social media.

“We all have cell phones,” Vrabel says. “The truth is, most people have multiple people. Just keep your phone in your bag. Just put your phone away.”

He also wants the players to be on time. If the player is running late, Vrabel has instructed them to communicate. But he doesn't want it to become a habit.
Vrabel then asked players to resist pulling a sweatshirt hoodie over their heads during the meeting.
“We're building our own identity,” Vlavel said. “We're building our own teams. We're building our own programs. There's something different… And that's how we make you as good as individuals, as players and as a team.

Vrabel also emphasized that while employees working at the team's headquarters are there to help players succeed, they are not athletes' “housekeepers.”
“They're here to help you do your job,” Vlavel said. “They are not to be your barret, they are your housekeeper and your butler. Do you go where I go? We treat those people with the utmost respect.”

The Patriots and Bill Belichick agreed to say goodbye to January 2024 after appearing only in one Four Seasons playoff game after Tom Brady's exit.
Shortly after Belichick's departure, Jerrod Mayo was selected as the Patriot head coach. Mayo was fired after the 2024 season finale and Vrabel took over. Vrabel was the head coach of the Tennessee Titans from 2018-23 and spent the 2024 season as a consultant for the Cleveland Browns.
