The standoff between six Pro Bowlers Miles Garrett and the Cleveland Browns reached new heights this week as reports emerged about a meeting that ultimately didn't happen.
Last month, Starpass Rush recently informed the Browns of their desire to be traded to another team. Garrett then asked to meet with Jimmy Haslam, the owner of the Browns.

However, according to the NFL Network, Haslam refused a request to meet Garrett. Haslam then pointed out Garrett in the direction of Browns general manager Andrew Barry, according to Cleveland.com.

In a statement announcing his trade demands, Garrett said he preferred to land with the candidates next season. “The goal wasn't to go from Cleveland to Canton. It was always to compete and win the Super Bowl,” he said.
Garrett doubled these feelings and concluded that they were not “aligned” in the direction of the franchise.

“I have a lot of love for Cleveland, but that's always (competitive) for the championship, winning those big games and Lombardis,” Garrett told the NFL Network in February. “We didn't have the opportunity to do that. That's all I want.”
“That's not a decision I'd downplay,” Garrett said. “It took me a lot of time and conversations, but I look at the trajectory of the team and talk to people higher.

Browns' brass says they will not trade the 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year. Head coach Kevin Stefanski previously said Garrett “is a part of the present. He's a part of the future.”
Garrett has two years left to sign with the team.
