Houston Astros starting pitcher Spencer Aligetti suffered an unfortunate injury Monday before his team's game against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park.
The 25-year-old Alligetty was hit by a line drive while playing catch on the left field while practicing batting, causing his right thumb to break, the Astros said.
Arrighetti's thumb injury was in his thrown hands. The team has not yet provided a timeline for his return.

Arrighetti has started twice with the Astros this season, bringing his ERA to 1-1 with 5.59 innings of work. Last season, Arrighetti appeared in 29 games, with 28 starts. He went 7-13, had a 4.53 ERA in 145 innings and hit 171 batters.
Arigetti's absence is one of the things the Astros can do maliciously. Because their spinning was already hampered by injuries.
The team has four starting pitchers on the injured list, with some returning more than others. Lance McCullers Jr. is rehabilitating with Triple-A and may return soon.

But he is the only injured pitcher back. JP France is expected to return to the All-Star break at the earliest time after undergoing surgery to repair a torn right shoulder last July.
Lewis Garcia retreated to recovery from Tommy John's surgery during spring training and was transferred to 60 days of IL on Monday with elbow inflammation. Christian Javier is still recovering from Tommy John's surgery and may return later in the season.

Besides the absence of McCullers, France, Garcia and Javier, they are now without alligetty.
The Astros are 4-6 to start the season, but defeated the Mariners 4-3 on Monday. They will play the second game in the 3-Game Series on Tuesday at 9:40pm ET.
