The Los Angeles Dodgers completed a two-game sweep for the Chicago Cubs in the Tokyo Series on Wednesday, winning the game broadcast at Tokyo Dome 6-3 on Fox Sports.
The Dodgers jumped early to Cubs starter Justin Steel, despite not having Freddie Freeman (Lib) or Mookie Betts (Illness) in their starting lineup.
In two innings, Max Mancey crushed the hanging breakball for a double and set up the Dodgers one out with runners of 2 bases and 3 bases. Dodgers catcher Will Smith scored the first run of the game with a passing ball. Kique Hernandez then scored Muncie and hit a sacrifice fly to center field, which won the Dodgers 2-0.

Following two innings of two runs, the Dodgers attacked again in three innings. Tommy Edman hit a high first ball into the left field bleachers for his solo home run, the first home run of the 2025 MLB season.
The Dodgers' offense gave starting pitcher Loki Sasaki a nice cushion as the 23-year-old made his major league debut in victory. Sasaki pitched three innings and gave up one run with just one hit, but was unstable as he walked five batters.

The Cubs' lonely rone came to the bottom of three innings with Sasaki.
After the Cubs cut the deficit to 3-1, the Dodgers returned to work at the top of the four innings. Hernandez turned on an internal fastball and destroyed a two-run homer in the field sheet on the left to make it 5-1. Hernandez had three RBIs in victory.
Steele ended up losing after giving up five runs in four innings in his season debut.
The Cubs responded with their own run at the bottom of the four innings after the Ian Hap RBI single went 5-2.

After scoring two runs in the Dodgers victory on Tuesday, Shoe Hei ohtani joined the action when he hit a home run for Nate Pearson. The home run was under review due to fan interference, but after the review, Cole stood there. The Dodgers took a 6-2 lead in the top of five innings.
The Cubs' short stop dancebee Swanson was 6-3 on a run at the bottom of five innings, making it the place where the score remains.
The Cubs blackmailed them in nine innings. As the Dodgers approached, Alex Vescia pushed the tie to the plate before he closed the door and kept his grip on for victory. Dodgers' Reellee Bar Landonnack was praised as a victory as he pitched two scoreless innings in six and seven innings, hitting three Cubs batters.

With the Tokyo Series sweep, the Dodgers began their World Series title defense 2-0.
They will return to the US to play some more spring training games before resuming the regular season on March 27th to play the Detroit Tigers.
Like the Dodgers, the Cubs will be back home to play some more spring training games before resuming the regular season against the Arizona Diamondbacks on March 27th.
