Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman went on a tough outing against the New York Yankees on Sunday in his first game of doubleheader.
Gausman allowed six runs, walked five times and was removed from the game midway through three innings of 53 pitches. When he returned to the dugout, Gaussman was kicked out of the game by home plate judge Chris Conroy. While in the dugout, the warm veteran pitcher went down the stairs to the clubhouse.

It was a bad day everywhere.
“When I got out of the mound, I kind of let him know that he was going to go see his bad referee,” Gaussman told reporters after the game.
“There were probably at least three pitches of innings that I knew I was on a strike,” he said. “What's even more frustrating was seeing what[Yankees starter Max Fried]was getting, he's down the pitch.
The Red Sox Jarrenduran stole the house, and the Guardians were surprised: “I knew I had it.”

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Pirates Pirates Come Bio of Pittsburgh pitched 56 in eight runs and eight innings against the Milwaukee Brewers on July 1, 2022, so Gaussman's 53-pitch innings was the most pitched in everyone in the innings.
In the two All-Stars, a 3.16 ERA appeared in a match against the Yankees. Once he was done out, it swelled to 4.50.

New York won the first game of the doubleheader, 11-2. The Yankees won a 5-1 game two.
