New York Mets baseman Pete Alonso caught Flak from baseball fans on Monday after appearing to celebrate making a throw to finish the innings with the Boston Red Sox.
Boston led 3-1 at the bottom of the sixth inning when New York pitcher Kodai Senga got batsman David Hamilton and hit the grounder on the first base side. Alonso defended the ball and threw it to Senga for the outs. Alonso moved her hips to celebrate to complete the out.

Baseball fans were a hassle. Two innings before Alonso tried to flip the ball over Senga but threw it over the pitcher's head.

He had similar issues in a Sunday night game against the New York Yankees when he completely missed throwing the ball into the home plate. The Mets lost their game against the Yankees and Monday's game against the Red Sox.

“I ruined it,” Alonso said via Athletic after losing to the Yankees. “I just made a terrible throw. That whole inning, this game is on me. This is 100% for me.”
Alonso was 3-3 against Boston.
He hits .301 with an OPS of .964 and has nine home runs in the season. New York has made a hot start, but the struggle is beginning to become clear despite the team being tied first in the National League East with a 29-19 record.

The team's loss against the Red Sox dropped 8-9 in May. New York only lost eight games in April. The Mets have lost four of the last five who returned to last week's series finale against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
