New York Yankees utility Man Oswald Cabrera suffered a grotesque injury on Monday in a 11-5 victory over the Seattle Mariners.
Cabrera, 26, posted a sincere message to social media late Thursday night about how grateful he is for the support he received.
“After such a sad night for me, after a very cruel twist on my ankle, I had so many negative thoughts and tried to sleep so painfully that I didn't give in to worse thoughts. When I woke up, one of the first things I did was not grab my phone.

“I had a message from everyone. I dropped the phone in my bed, a huge smile on my face, and the first thing I could say was, 'God, how blessed I am'. ”
In his post, Cabrera said he had successfully performed surgery on his injured ankle. Cabrera is a condition that he and his family will never forget, so the infusion of support he received is
“My return to the field starts today. Thanks to you, I feel more motivated than ever. So with the power I have always had and all this beautiful energy you give me, I say I'll come back to you.
In another post, Cabrera cried out at his teammate who visited him in the hospital overnight.

“I know that all my teammates wanted to come and see me the same night, but access to the hospital was restricted, and as soon as the game ended, I was there, the coaches and trainers (the people I loved, by the way, the captain, the judge Aaron, and my favorite, Anthony Volpe,” Cabrera said in his post.
“They didn't have to be there, but they went without having anything in their stomachs yet.”
Cabrera has been with the Yankees since her MLB debut in 2022 and is loved by the clubhouse.

His injury occurred at the top of the nine innings. The base had one for the Yankees. Cabrera was a 3-base runner, and Aaron Judge hit a flyball into the right field.
Cabrera was tagged and hustled into the house after the ball was caught.

Cabrera tried to avoid the Mariners catcher Cal Laurie tag. Then he stopped trying to touch the home plate as he slowed down, his ankles buckled beneath him, causing him to feel pain.
Cabrera had most of the start this season with the Yankees' 3 base. In the past he has been used as a utility man who can fill out and play with the entire diamond.
In 34 games this season, Cabrera has a batting average of .243 with one home run and 11 RBIs. Over his four-year career, the 26-year-old has a batting average of .234 with 34 home runs.
