Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) suffered a fall in Luxembourg earlier this week and underwent hip replacement surgery overseas on Saturday, a spokeswoman said.
“Emeritus Speaker Pelosi underwent hip replacement surgery early this morning and is recovering well,” Pelosi's press secretary Ian Crager said in a statement.
“Speaker Pelosi would like to thank the U.S. military staff at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center at Landstuhl Army Base and the medical staff at Kirchberg Hospital in Luxembourg for their excellent care and kindness.

Pelosi, 84, tripped and fell after posing for a group photo with other lawmakers and officials during a visit to Luxembourg to commemorate the Battle of the Bulge, The Wall Street Journal reported.
