Hawkins held the shotgun, but was immediately overwhelmed by Midshipmen defenders in the backfield and was ultimately taken down for a game-clinching sack on a two-point conversion attempt.
Oklahoma started the game red hot, ending the first quarter up 14-0 after running back Gavin Sawchuk ran for a 21-yard touchdown and wide receiver Zion Carney caught a 56-yard touchdown pass. Ta.

Navy fullback Alex Tekuza then ran in for an 11-yard touchdown for Navy, cutting the Sooners' lead to 14-7.
In the third quarter, quarterback Blake Horvath ran the longest run in Navy history.
Horvath faked a handoff and ran into the open field for a 95-yard touchdown. It was initially ruled that the ball did not result in a touchdown because it was taken down just before the goal line, but after a replay review it was ruled a touchdown.

Horavus' 95-yard scamper tied the score at 14 with 3:49 left in the third quarter.
The previous record for the Midshipmen was during the Roger Staubach era, with Johnny Cy's 93-yard touchdown run against Duke in 1963.
Horvath then found the end zone again and ran in from six yards to go, giving Navy a 21-14 lead.

Horvath completed 7 of 12 pass attempts for 92 yards and rushed the ball 18 times for 155 yards and two touchdowns.
Tekuza gained 43 yards on 15 carries and scored one touchdown in the win.
Hawkins played well in the loss, completing 28 of 43 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns and rushing 17 times for 61 yards.

Sawciak added 13 carries for 67 yards and a touchdown.
With this loss, Oklahoma ended the season with 6 wins and 7 losses.
Navy finished the season with 10 wins and 3 losses.
