History repeated itself with the annual clash between the Army and Navy.
The Midshipmen won 31-13 on Saturday in Landover, Maryland, and their record against the Black Knights is 63-55-7.
Navy scored a touchdown on its first drive to take a 14-0 lead and turned an interception into seven more points. Army cut the deficit in half before going into the locker room. A field goal to start the second half made it a four-point lead.

However, Navy made a big splash with a 52-yard touchdown catch and run by running back Eli Heidenreich, regaining a 21-10 lead late in the third. After the Black Knights made a field goal, they forced a Navy punt — or so they thought.
The Midshipmen, who were fourth and fifth from their own side, executed a fake punt and nose tackle Landon Robinson ran 29 yards for a first down, keeping the drive alive. Four plays later, Blake Horvath scored on a rushing score to give Navy a 28-13 lead.
Hoping for a miracle, Army quarterback Bryson Daley threw a wild pass on the run, but it was intercepted and the Midshipmen ended the game with a field goal, ending possession with less than four minutes left. Raised 3. After another pick and a first down, Navy ran out the clock.
The victory gave the Navy, which also defeated the Air Force earlier this year, the Commander-in-Chief Trophy.
The team participated in the tradition of “honoring the fallen” by singing each other's alma mater.

Army-Navy game is 'the purest form of college football' in the Zero era, sponsor CEO says
President-elect Trump attended the game from a luxury suite, marking his first appearance in a contest since 2020. He had competed for five consecutive years, starting in 2016, about a month after winning that year's election. President Trump was joined by a star-studded cast including J.D. Vance, Elon Musk, Daniel Penny, Mike Johnson, Tulsi Gabbard and Pete Hegseth.
Army had won six of the previous eight meetings. The Midshipmen fell to 9-3 on the season, while Army fell to 11-2.
Both teams are now focused on their respective bowl games. Navy will face Oklahoma State in the Almond Force Bowl, while Army awaits its Independence Bowl opponent as Marshall was dropped for nearly 30 players who entered the transfer portal.
This game was a rare display of offense on the field, at least for one team, as they had hit the under in 18 of the past 19 seasons. However, the total is hovering around 39.5 points, and over bettors are rejoicing.
