The New York Giants have returned to the first round to grab a future quarterback, with social media splitting on how the selection is displayed.
Instead of winning Colorado Buffalo star and Heisman Trophy finalist Shedale Sanders, the Giants traded for the Houston Texans to bring Oremisquarterback Jackson Dart to 25th place.
Now, Dirt was always considered someone who could go ahead before Sanders. But no one knew where one of these two prospects would land when the Pittsburgh Steelers, a team desperately in need of a quarterback, took Derrick Harmon out of Oregon on No. 21.

However, the Giants traded picks for No. 34 and 99 in this year's draft, returning to the first round with a pick in the third round of 2026, earning a dual threat quarterback from the Rebels.
One immediate response on social media was his comparison with Daniel Jones, who was released from New York this season to end his roller coaster tenure.
“The Giants are trading to draft QBs. Jackson Dirt is incredibly funny,” said one X user. “It's a very giant.”

Skip Bayless, The Sports Talk Personality also tore the picks.
“Chedur Sanders is far better than Jackson Dirt,” he tweeted with all caps. “This is just laughing and sad.”
However, some people tried to look at it from both perspectives, such as ESPN NFL analyst and former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III.

“There's no need to dislike Jackson Dirt to support Chedur Sanders,” he tweeted.
Jon Gruden, a longtime NFL head coach who now covers the sports of Barstool Sports, also showed his love for dirt toughness.
“New York Giants fan… you're getting one tough sob!” he said in a video of the two who broke the film from Ole Miss season. “Congratulations to Jaxson Dart!”
Of course, the memes have started their walks, but they're lined up at the moment when the Giants said it all about two separate NFL draft journeys of the two quarterbacks.
Sanders was not selected on the remaining picks in the first round. This means you will need to see where you are heading in the second or third round until 7pm on Friday.
Speaking to the media after being selected, Dart said he was in touch with Giants head coach Brian Daball throughout the draft process. However, these texts began dying two weeks ago.
Ultimately, Daboll is his head coach.
“This is the beginning of my journey,” he told reporters via ESPN. “I'm sitting in a room with the quarterback who won the Super Bowl.”

That quarterback is Russell Wilson. He is expected to sign on as a New York free agent and start the first week of New York. Another veteran signalling sender Jameis Winston is also on the depth chart. This will provide multiple brains that fall apart in the quarterback room.
