The New York Jets have discovered an alternative to Aaron Rodgers' free agency as Justin Fields reportedly agreed to join the team in a two-year agreement following multiple reports.
ESPN reported the field and the Jets have reached an agreement on a two-year agreement worth $40 million. This is guaranteed $30 million.
Knowing that the team is away from Rodgers, he is expected to be released when the new league year begins.

Fields was traded with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the final offseason of the Chicago Bears, a team that traded up with the New York Giants to grab him at No. 11 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft.
But with a first-place overall pick and clear lane to get USC's Caleb Williams in the 2024 draft, it looked like the Bears would handle the field somewhere.
The Seahawks agree to sign quarterback Sam Darnold to a three-year deal: Report
The Steelers hope to find some continuity in their quarterback position, and after their release from the Denver Broncos, they signed Russell Wilson a one-year veteran minimum contract, with Fields adding the competition.
Wilson initially won the training camp competition, but injuries took him by the sidelines at the start of the season, starting his first six games of the year.
The Steelers made their way 4-2 with these starts. Fields showed improvements in passes and his patented scrambling ability, picking up yards when pockets broke down and also worked on the design lance scheme.

The field passed for 1,106 yards and passed for five touchdowns on one interception, but rushed for 289 yards with five scores on the ground.
At 26, the Jets hope the field continues to improve since last season.
Fields' first three seasons in the NFL were roller coasters with the Bears, and he didn't properly build around him. He rushed for 1,143 yards with eight rushing scores in his second season, but inconsistent passing numbers and some degree of injury saw the team head in different directions.
Fields went from 10-28 in three years with the Bears, but this book is not written for Ohio products. He teams up with an old Buckeyes friend of Garrett Wilson, the Jets' top receiver.
The Jets still have something to do with the offensive line. This is an important area of modern games that we don't know yet.

Jets fans are well aware of how long it has been since they reached the playoffs (14 seasons for those who don't realize it). And now it's up to the field to do what was supposed to be when Rodgers was traded two seasons ago.
