Bowling Green's Falcon appears to be heading towards NFL legends to fill head coaching vacancy. According to ESPN, the school has extended its offer to Eddie George.
The former Tennessee Titan is spending Saturday at Nissan Stadium. George is currently the head football coach for the Tigers in Tennessee, and the school shares the stadium with Titans.
George was interviewed by Bowling Green earlier this week, and according to the report, he appears to be genuinely interested in the opportunity.

George rose to football stardom during his stellar stint in Ohio. He rushed for 3,768 yards with the Buckeyes.
Tennessee has achieved success under George. The Tigers punched tickets to the FCS playoffs of this past season, marking the program's first playoff berth since 2013.

Scott Loeffler created the opening of his head coaching at Bowling Green when he left to do his job as a quarterback coach with the Philadelphia Eagles.
After Doug Nussmeier followed Kellen Moore to the New Orleans Saints, the realistic Super Bowl champion had to fill the quarterback coach vacancy. Nussmeier will serve as New Orleans offensive coordinator under Moore for the 2025 season.

George spent most of his professional soccer career with the Titans, then closed his time in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys. He has 10,441 career rush yards and remains the Titan's greatest leader ever.

George's tenure at TSU is in line with the trends of NFL greats historically taking on head coaching jobs at black colleges and universities (HBCU).

Deion Sanders was named Jackson State head coach in 2020. He is currently a coach in Colorado. Michael Vick was recently named Norfolk State's next head coach, and Desun Jackson will coach the Delaware State football team this season.
