Trey Hendrickson is more than open to staying in Cincinnati, but the Bengalis seem to be kicking him out the door.
Edge Rush, who bagged the NFL this past season, has been critical of his organization recently, but the scathing statement he released on Monday peeked behind the curtains.
In March, the Bengals granted Hendrickson permission to seek trade. Last month he said communication from him was “poor.”

According to Hendrickson, the communication apparently halted.
“There is no communication between my camp and the post-organization draft,” Hendrickson said in a statement.
“The pre-draft offers didn't reflect the vision we shared and if I continued to play at a high level, it was promised a final offseason. The coaches know these past conversations, not using collaboration to bring them to the point where they return to the team's home, they no longer communicate.

Hendrickson finished each of the last two seasons with 17.5 sacks. He is in the final year of his contract.
“We don't have the desire to be the highest paying, or you know, we're in line first,” Hendrickson said last month. “I'm not going to get into every detail, but there are times when I'm not willing to try and try. I don't want to play for the incentives that get me out of control. I don't want to get a short-term contract (at A). Do you know?”
Hendrickson turned 30 in December and has been with Cincinnati since 2021, and was an absolute stolen for them. He spent his first four seasons with the New Orleans Saints, but after just 6.5 in his first three NFL seasons, he recorded a career-high career at 13.5 sacks, failing to post numbers there.

Since the Bengalis acquired him, he has posted at least 14 bags in three of his four seasons. He also made the Pro Bowl every season as Bengal.
