New Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens has denounced Artificial Intelligence for critical comments from his old team that surfaced on social media over the weekend.
Screenshots of alleged comments from an Instagram post spread to X on Sunday. The statement took a shot at the Pittsburgh Steelers organization, calling them “cheapest,” and pointed out that the team swapped other wide receivers before negotiating a new deal with them.

However, Pickens pushed back his remarks in his own Instagram Story post.
“Literally on a plane,” his message read. “There's no service. I saw straight from the fans of Pitt. Stop trying to make a story. I'm happy with everything Steel City did for me.

He was the source of the Steelers' surprise towards the end of his run. He argued with fans, fought Cleveland Browns players and was called by Mike Tomlin for multiple violations during the game. He also celebrated Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kels in front of the camera in a strange moment following the loss of Pittsburgh's Christmas Day.
He caught 59 catches for 900 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games for the Steelers in 2024.
Steelers general manager Omar Khan spoke about the move on Friday.

“I wouldn't use the word disappointment,” he said via the post-Pittsburgh Gazette. “We had three years at George. There were some exciting times. It was just time. A fresh start on both sides was the right thing to do.”
