With four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers remaining in the free agency pool, it could have opened another potential option for him in the NFL.
The New Orleans Saints could be desperate for veteran options in that position after news that Derek Kerr's 2025 season could be at risk due to shoulder injuries.
The NFL Network reports that surgery could be a CARR option, which “threatening his availability this season.”

Kerr's second year injury in New Orleans last season was a theme as he missed seven games last year due to a concussion and a fracture.
Now, his season is at risk, so perhaps the saints could use Rogers to see if he's in the place he wants to star in next year.
Saints' Derek Kerr season in danger due to new shoulder injury: Report
“Hopefully we'll see (or rather) the reports that the saints have reached out,” profile football talker Mike Florio said Friday. “We still don't see if it goes anywhere or not. But New Orleans will be another option for Rogers.”
The New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers were two other frontrunners for Rogers, but the former runs it after signing Steelers' starting quarterback Russell Wilson last season, and then signing its free agency Jamis Winston.

It was expected that Rogers would head to Steel City, but he was not yet known about his intentions. The Minnesota Vikings continue to be an option, but they have affirmed that their first round pick, JJ McCarthy, is the starter heading for camp, who had to miss out on their first year due to injuries last season.
As for the Saints, Carr's absence for the season leaves the quarterback position to Spencer Latler or Jake Hayner, as the depth chart reads. Rutler filled out Carr during his injury last year, but didn't do well on his fifth pick in 2024 as he went 0-6 in six starts.
Rogers may be an option, but the ninth overall pick belongs to Saints this year, and they will be an entertaining team to watch. Can they move up above the other quarterback Needy teams and grab a potential future quarterback?

It is worth noting that Kerr had only one year left in his deal with the saint before becoming a free agent in 2027.
Rodgers, 41, has finished a failed term with the New York Jets and has started with the team from 18 to 2012.
