Russell Wilson will be back wandering around for his next NFL team like he did in 2024.
The Cleveland Browns and New York Giants, owners of second and third picks, respectively, in the 2025 NFL Draft, will hold a meeting with the 36-year-old veteran signal caller to see if he is suitable for next season.
According to multiple reports, the Browns will hold their first meeting on Thursday, followed by the Giants on Friday.

Wilson has signed a one-year veteran Minimum with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who need a quarterback this offseason. With the new league year officially beginning Wednesday at 4pm, Wilson is officially a free agent, but is permitted to speak to teams during the legal free agent tampering period that began Monday.
Several free-agent quarterbacks have already signed as Sam Darnold joined Justin Fields, a teammate of the Seattle Seahawks and Wilson in Pittsburgh last season.

Wilson and Aaron Rodgers are two of the most interesting free agent quarterbacks still on the market, both of which have their own careers across Super Bowl-winning pedigrees.
Last year, Wilson got off to a delayed start to the season due to injuries, so Field started the first six games of the season. Once Wilson's calves were 100% healthy, he came in and eventually did the job to help the Steelers reach the playoffs as a wild card team.

He threw for 2,482 yards with 16 touchdowns in 11 games, making it 6-5 in those contests.
Along with Cleveland, Wilson visits franchises that he doesn't want to be in this situation and searches for a quarterback because Desshaun Watson's trade and extensions are not going well.
Watson struggled hard last season before suffering Achilles' injury, and the Browns ended up finishing 3-14. His availability in 2025 is in scope as Watson re-shots Achilles during the rehabilitation process.
Meanwhile, the Giants owned the same record after their quarterback extension didn't work. Daniel Jones was released midway through the second season of a four-year, $160 million extension, and the Tommy DeVito and Drew Locke combo did everything they could to finish the year.

Unlike Cleveland, however, New York is linked to Rogers, and Wilson's signature could depend on what the four-time MVP quarterback decides. The Steelers are also expected to be in Rogers' market.
Wilson has his 14th season in the NFL and while he's crossing the hills for the rest of his year, he's a reliable veteran option for a team looking to upgrade in position.
