The competition between America and Canada on the ice has been around for many years, but rivalries seem to have become political.
The cross-border countries will take ice on Saturday night in Montreal for the four-country faceoff, when the two countries first met since hockey at the 2016 World Cup.
When Team USA faced Finland on Thursday night in Canada, crowds booed American players and later booed the national anthem.

Daly said the NHL was “watching the situation.”
“I think it's getting a little weaker,” Daly said. “Our experience in Montreal over the past week has been a positive experience, with two American teams playing there. So I hope that continues. Sports breaks barriers and people are thrilled. It's a way to get closer and I hope for this tournament. It certainly can help you do that.”
The pack will win US regulations at 8pm and earn a spot in the one-game final next Saturday. When they move to Boston next week, there is a possibility that the two will be able to play each other for the title of the tournament.
