Republican Nikki Haley, who ran for President-elect Trump several months ago, responded after the president-elect publicly announced that she would not be joining his administration.
Haley responded in a similarly public manner, writing that she wished him “great success.”
“I was proud to work with President Trump to protect America at the United Nations,” she wrote in Saturday's X Post.
“I wish him and all of his servants great success over the next four years in moving us toward a stronger and safer America,” she said.

Haley's generous response came after President Trump bluntly told Truth Social that Mike Pompeo, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, former secretary of state and CIA director, would not be part of the new Cabinet.
The announcement comes after rumors swirled about President-elect Trump's Cabinet.

“I will not be inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to join the current Trump administration,” the president-elect posted on Truth Social early Saturday evening.
“I have greatly enjoyed and appreciated working with them and would like to thank them for their contributions to our country,” he continued. “Let’s make America great again!”

Haley tried to be an alternative to Trump while running for the Republican nomination, but ended up writing a supportive editorial about the presidential candidate two days before Election Day.
The former South Carolina governor wrote a recently published opinion piece titled “Trump is not perfect, but he's the better choice.”

“I don't agree with Mr. Trump 100%,” Haley admitted. “But I agree with him most of the time and I disagree with Mr. Harris almost all the time, so this decision is easy.”
