Novak Djokovic gave it his all.
The Serbian tennis star posted a scan of his injured left hamstring on social media early Sunday morning after being booed when he withdrew from the first set of the semi-finals at the Australian Open. He said in a press conference that he had suffered a muscle strain, but faced criticism on social media from fans who questioned the severity of the injury.
Djokovic appears to have let the backlash stand, as he posted an MRI photo taken on Saturday to X to prove his doubters wrong.
“I wanted to leave this here for all you sports injury 'experts' out there,” he wrote.

The 37-year-old Djokovic called off his match against Alexander Zverev on Friday after dropping the first set in a tiebreak. After shaking hands with Zverev and the referee, Djokovic gathered his equipment and began walking toward the locker room.
Some in the Rod Laver Arena crowd jeered at him. Djokovic flashed both thumbs up before walking away.

Zverev criticized those who booed Djokovic in an on-court interview.
“I know everyone paid for their tickets and everyone wants to see hopefully a great five-set match,” Zverev said. “But what you need to understand is that Novak Djokovic is someone who has dedicated his life to this sport for the past 20 years.”
Djokovic was injured late in the first set of his last match, a four-set victory over Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinals on Tuesday night.
Djokovic finished the match with tape wrapped around the top of his left foot, and had similar tape wrapped at the start of the match against Zverev.

“I did everything I could to heal the strain,” Djokovic said at a press conference on Friday.
“Towards the end of the first set, the pain was getting more and more,” he said. “I think it was too much for me to handle at this point. It was a disappointing ending, but I tried.”
