Ohio State looked dominant throughout the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff.
The Buckeyes defeated the top-seeded Oregon Ducks in the quarterfinals before defeating the Texas Longhorns in the semifinals to advance to Monday's championship game. But one member of the Buckeyes who has made a name for himself primarily through his social media presence will not be traveling to Atlanta for the national title game.
Former walk-on Caden Davis has been released from the team, Ohio State sports information director Jerry Emig confirmed to the Lantern.

Davis' online content also provided his followers with behind-the-scenes content about the Ohio State University football team and athletic facilities. He also planned to document his life as a student at the Columbus, Ohio, campus.
As of Wednesday, at least one of Davis' social media bios reads “Ohio State Football #61,” and other accounts include references to the football program.

In a since-deleted Instagram post, Davis hinted that he would be heading to the Dallas area with the Buckeyes for the Cotton Bowl semifinal against Texas. It was later revealed that the photo Davis shared was from last season's Cotton Bowl game. The University of Missouri defeated Ohio State in that game.
