Brazilian Olympian Bruno Lobo gave all the credit to God for putting him in a position to perform a heroic act when he rescued a drowning woman off the coast of San Luis, Brazil, on January 10th.
“I give all honor and glory to God on the day he used me as an instrument to save this young woman,” she wrote in an Instagram post (translated from Portuguese).

Lobo, who is also an orthopedic surgeon, competed in kitesurfing at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He has won the Pan American Games twice.
He said in the video that he was busy training at the time of the rescue. Lobo claimed he entered the water at around 5:40 p.m. local time to “do a final test.”
“It was a cloudy day and the wind conditions were not the best, but we decided to test the support that had arrived. It was our first day using this material, so we set the camera to record and headed to the coast. ” he said. video.

Lobo used his equipment to help bring the woman back to shore, after which lifeguards provided further assistance to her.
World Sailing released a statement Monday praising Lobo's heroic act.
