The Kansas City Chiefs looked like they could win their second straight Super Bowl with a 26-13 blowout win over the New Orleans Saints on Monday night.
The Chiefs got off to an early start, converting a Derek Carr interception into a touchdown on their first offensive drive. The Chiefs were in trouble as Kansas City scored on four of their first five drives to start the first half.

Kansas City put the finishing touches on the win when Travis Kelce lined up at quarterback near the goal line. He passed the ball to Xavier Worthy, who ran it into the end zone for a 3-yard score.
Patrick Mahomes got Kelce very involved in the game. Although he didn't score a touchdown, Kelce had nine catches on 10 targets for 70 yards.
Veteran wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster led the way with seven catches for 130 yards. It was the first time Smith-Schuster had over 100 yards receiving since 2022 against the San Francisco 49ers. That was his first stint with the Chiefs.
Mahomes completed 28 of 39 passes for 331 yards. He had one interception and zero touchdown passes.

Kareem Hunt scored a touchdown and had 102 rushing yards that night.
It seemed like things would work out for Carr and the Saints. In the second quarter, Carr threw a long pass to Rashid Shahid for a 43-yard touchdown. The score at this point was 10-7. However, New Orleans was unable to score again until Carr found Foster Morrow early in the fourth quarter.
Shahid had four catches for 86 yards.
The night ended early for Carr when he injured his hip trying to preserve a drive on fourth down. The big hit got him ejected and brought in Jake Hayner to end the game.
The Chiefs entered their bye week and started the season with a 5-0 record. The last time Kansas City started a season with five straight wins was in 2018. It was Mahomes' first season as a full-time starting QB, and Kansas City ended up losing in the AFC Championship.
