The daughter of convicted rapist Dominic Perricot filed a police complaint this week against him, accusing him of drugging her and raping her as well, as she explained the details of years of abuse of his wife with strangers.
Last December, Pericot was found guilty of drugging and raping his wife, Guisere Pericot, for about a decade, and invited dozens of men to his home in southern France to rape her with her. While she was deeply sedated, 50 other men were also found guilty, primarily for raping and sexually assaulting Pericot.
The four-month trial began in-depth discussions across the country about rape culture, understanding of consent, and the widespread use of basic sleep and anti-anxiety medications to prey on people.
During the trial, Pericot's daughter, Caroline Darian, faced her father twice and said she was sure he had taken the medicine. Pericot repeatedly denied that he had taken medicines and touched his daughter.
Prosecutors did not accuse Pericot of drugging or mistreating his daughter last year. Any complaints filed by Darian this week will be considered by an investigative judge or prosecutor. He decides whether there is enough evidence to indict Pericot with the new charges.
Pericot was found guilty last year for taking intimate photos of his daughter and stepdaughter. Investigators found approximately 20,000 photographs and video investigators about his computer and hard drive. This recorded many of the hundreds of rapes he adjusted to his sedated wife, allowing police to identify other rapists.
There were also images that were taken at various times. The daughter was sleeping in her underwear that the covers were pulled back and the lights were turned on, and she said it wasn't hers.
His explanation of the photos changed during the trial. He said variously that he had not taken any photos, did not believe they belonged to hers, and that he took them because he was being threatened.
Darian, who goes by pen name, hoped that her charges at last year's trial would be considered in detail, she said in an interview this week.
“I wanted to get the truth,” she said. “It never happened.”
She added. “I can't stop there. My case wasn't investigated as it should have been, so that's not a rule.”
Florence Lar, the attorney Darian was hired to tackle a new case, said there was evidence that was not investigated by investigators at last year's trial.
“There are elements that are absolutely not revealed, but that's very clear. They erased some of the files,” she said.
Pericot's lawyer, Beatrice Zavallo, said she wasn't surprised, but she had not yet seen any complaints that included 10 charges including rape, attempted rape, sexual assault and drugging someone against her will.
Already France's most infamous sexual predator, Pericot has been charged for two other cold cases. Rape and murder of a 23-year-old woman in 1991, and attempted rape of a 19-year-old woman in 1999.
Both women were real estate agents who were attacked by future clients using blades and dragged them with ether while looking at the property. Pericot admitted to drug therapy but denied any involvement in the murder, according to investigative documents read out in court at last year's trial.
