A fan was identified who fell on the field wall and field to the right of the Pittsburgh Pirates PNC Park on Wednesday night.
According to the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, 20-year-old former college football player, Kaban Markwood, was identified as a man who fell on a right field warning track over 20 feet.
It was a scary scene Wednesday night when Markwood flipped a wall railing over and fell onto the field in a game between the Pirates and the Chicago Cubs.

Play quickly stopped as medical staff sprinted into the outfield and found a shirtless Markwood, visible in his face, as the shirtless Markwood on top of the dirt on the warning truck. Trainers from both teams joined EMS and placed him in the cart and removed him from the field.
Players from both teams went down one knee with someone looking down on the ground.
Pittsburgh Public Safety posted to X that the incident was “dealed as inherently contingent,” and Markwood was in a state of crisis Thursday morning at Allegheny General Hospital.

According to the Tribune Review, fans around Markwood were excited by the Pirates' rally during the game and said they kept taking off their shirts and pouring beer before falling.
The South Allegheny School District confirmed that Markwood was the fallen man. He graduated from Southern Allegheny High School in 2022.
“Everyone in South Allegheny will say he is a hardworking and extremely resilient young man. He is a fighter,” the district said in a statement to the Tribune Review. “He needs that resilience now. But he has it. He touched a lot of lives in South Allegheny. We are a small community. He is a common name here. Everyone knows him.

“He has prayer and support from the South Allegheny community.”
Markwood played in two Division II football programs, Walsh University and Wheeling University. According to the team's website, he played for Wheeling in 2023 and appeared in four games.
Frank Corta, head football coach at South Allegheny High School, has released a statement about Markwood in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.
“Bag is not only a great athlete, but also an exceptional young man. His resilience, heart and strength are truly unparalleled. Keep him, his family and his friends in your thoughts and prayers as you navigate this challenging period.”
The Pirates also issued a statement shortly after Markwood fell to the wall in seven innings.
Andrew McCutchen hit a double just before Markwood fell, and sent a prayer with an X.

“I really hate what happened tonight,” he wrote. “Thinking about that guy, his family, or his friends won't help you. Pray for him tonight. Think of his loved ones, and hold your family a little tighter tonight. I hope he will pull.
Once Markwood was carried off the field, the Pirates and Cubs resumed the game, with Pittsburgh winning 4-3.
