First on FOX: The American Principles project, a conservative watchdog group, describes as a “large loophole” used by Tlanned Parenthood, warns about what the group offers transgender hormone therapy to minors.
In a broad report documenting how plannado parents support transagents, the American Principles Project denounced the group and its affiliates manipulating the definition of contraception to provide transgender hormone therapy to minors without parental consent.
“Using birth control pills as a 'gender-affirming' treatment is a massive loophole,” the report said. “Most states allow minors to consent to these contraceptives themselves, and many states allow minors to do so without notifying their parents.”

Some blue states, like Washington, Oregon and Minnesota, have laws that allow minors to obtain adolescent blockers or cross-sex hormones for the purpose of transitioning gender without parental consent. However, while most states require parental consent for minors to access these drugs, others take a more stringent approach of banning minors' medications entirely, whether or not their parents approve them.

The American Principles Project points to a “Gender-Promoting Care Patient Guide” from the Mar Monte Chapter of Planned Parenthood, the largest affiliate in the nation's organization serving Central California and parts of northern Nevada.
In both states, parental consent is required to access any type of medical intervention aimed at supporting minors in their gender transition, but minors can obtain various forms of birth control, including birth control.
A patient guide on “gender-affirming care” will guide patients, “people under 15 years of age can come to us with a period of time.” Next, the following statement reads, “Parent/guardian consent is not necessary to receive birth control.”
A 2022 case study at Seattle Children's Hospital highlights the case of a 14-year-old biological woman who has been diagnosed with gender discomfort and is “very struggling with the bleeding cycle” that the patient begins to experience at age 12 as she is being scrutinized to provide transgender health care to minors.

Despite the gender dysphoria of minor patients, the child did not want to completely transition into men. Rather, according to the case study, the female patient was identified as “non-binary” and expressed her desire to be exposed to the effects of testosterone, such as deeper voice and facial hair. As a result, the child was given hormone-based birth control pills, stopping her period. The case studies were opened to improve the patient's mental health and pursue future upper surgery.

According to the Endocrine Society, in addition to the blocking period, certain types of birth control can also suppress the production of testosterone. This makes birth control a viable route for gender-permeable biological females, who may not want to experience the effects of testosterone, but may want to blunt women and gender maturation, as explained in the case studies above. According to the Endocrine Society, it is a viable mechanism for biological men who want to block the body's natural testosterone production.
“Patients under the age of 18 are not eligible for hormone therapy, but they may be consulting with their provider to understand treatment options and receive their medication to stop the duration (if necessary),” Planned Parenthood in the Southwest Pacific states on its “gender affirming care” web page. The description also appears on the FAQ page in the About Us section of the website.
“The fact that planned parent-child relationships are actively finding and misusing legal loopholes to begin transitioning minors behind their parents' backs is absolutely disgusting,” Terry Schilling, president of the American Principles Project, told Fox News Digital. “There's nothing this organization doesn't pay quickly at the expense of our children and families.”

According to a report by the American Principles Project, approximately 80% of Planned Parenthood Clinics offer some form of “gender-affirming care.” The group said it outweighs abortion services.
The report describes other extensive details about the planned parent-child relationship prioritizing sexual change procedures for young people. Schilling described it as “not health care,” but an ideological crusade that undermines family and exploits vulnerable youth.”
“The recent shift towards planning parent-child relationships becoming the leading provider of so-called 'gender appeal care' has exposed radical agendas to rebuild society from the fetus, and is now targeting the next generation with dangerous, life-changing medical procedures,” Schilling said.
“Our report reveals that Planned Parenthood is currently repeating other services to prioritize treatment for irreversible transgenders without parental consent. From activity books promoting gender ideology to chatbots targeting 13-year-olds, their material is designed to sexualize and indoctrinate the next generation.”

In a statement to the planned parent-child relationships of Jenny Black Jannie Black in the Pacific Southwest's president and CEO, the health center claimed it “works under the highest health care standards” and said the accusations that it violated state law were “completely false.”
“We strongly condemn the dangerous spread of life-saving gender-affirming disinformation promoted by ramp-prolonged transphobia,” Black said. “We will continue to provide safe and legal health care to those who rely on us for access to quality and caring care.”
Planned Parenthood's Mar Monte Chapter did not respond to a request for comment on Fox News Digital.
