Former President Trump recorded nearly three hours of his podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience'' on Friday.
The podcast, recorded in Austin, Texas, gave Republican presidential candidate Rogan exposure to 14.5 million followers on Spotify and 17.6 million followers on YouTube. Mr. Rogan is the host of the nation's most-listened to podcast and has a strong influence on the young male voters Mr. Trump is aiming to reach.
Here are the main takeaways from Friday's podcast:
President Trump asks Logan to explain why he got bad press: “You said a lot of terrible things—''
In explaining his process for selecting political appointees after taking office, President Trump talked about his first appointment, John Bolton, who served as White House National Security Adviser. In 2019, President Trump fired Bolton, who remains a staunch critic. President Trump explained that fellow American businessman Phil Ruffin warned him that Bolton was a “bad guy,” but by then Trump had already hired him.
Podcast host Joe Rogan said former President Trump is so popular with Americans because of what he calls his “wild statements.” (Joe Rogan Experience)
“And he was right. But he was better in a way. He's a hell of a job. And every time I have to deal with a country that I've seen this awful job of standing behind. They said, “Hey, Trump's going to go to war with us.” 'He was with Bush when they foolishly moved into the Middle East. They should never have done that. I always said that as a civilian, so I always got more attention than other people,” Trump said.
President Trump said, “I wasn't trying.'' “Actually, I don't know the exact reason. Maybe you can tell me.”
“I can definitely say that,” Logan offered. “You've said a lot of wild things. …And CNN made you even more popular by highlighting how wild you are. And when people talk about something like this… They pumped you up in the polls because they were fed up with it.'' Bull – ready-made politician jargon, even if they don't agree with you, at least you know who that guy is. I knew there was one, that was the real him. ”
Elon Musk agrees with Logan: 'The rebels are now Republicans' to Trump
“But rebels are now Republicans. You want to be invisible, you want to be punk rock, you want to be liked, you want to rebel against the establishment? You're a conservative now,” Logan said. “How crazy is that? And liberals now support silencing criticism. They support censorship online… regulating free speech, now with the amendment to the U.S. Constitution. They are trying to regulate Article 1. This should be looked at.”

Elon Musk, who took over Twitter (now known as X) in 2022, responded to the clip, writing, “That's right.”
In response, Trump told Logan: “You know they're going to go after their political opponents.” “I've been investigated more than Alphonse Capone.”
President Trump says he told North Korea's Kim Jong Un to “relax” and “go to the beach”
In a meeting with former President Obama during the presidential transition period, Trump recalled, “I thought Obama was going to go to war with North Korea.'' Logan then noted that Trump referred to North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un as “little rocket man” early in his first term.

“I said, 'Little Rocket Man, you're going to burn in hell,' and it was tough,” Trump said. “I got to know him better than anyone. More than anyone. And I said, 'What else do you want to do? Why don't you just sit back and relax? Go to the beach. Why not?’ Just kidding, I said, ‘You’re building nuclear power all the time, so you don’t have to do that.’
President Trump talks about his plan to “make America healthy again'' and tells RFK Jr. to “just focus on health.''
Logan praises President Trump for partnering with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to “make America healthy again” and fully commits to Republican nominee Kennedy as part of his administration. I asked.
“Well, one thing I would like to point out a little bit about him, as well as me, is the environmental issue, because he doesn't like oil. I love oil,” Trump said. “I think it's good to keep him away from the fire. So I'm going to move him away a little bit. I told him to focus on his health. Focus. You can do whatever you want. But you have to be a little careful with liquid gold. ”
“Our food contains chemicals and ingredients that are known to be toxic and are illegal in other countries,” Logan said, showing Trump's graph.
“There are pesticides and herbicides and really unnecessary pesticides being sprayed on our food,” the podcaster said. “And there are a lot of health implications,” Logan said, adding that Kennedy recently said “more than 70 percent of young people are ineligible to join the military for health reasons.”
“But RFK will be — I think he's a great guy,” Trump said.
Mr. Logan also asked whether Mr. Trump was under pressure not to work with Mr. Kennedy.
“But I don't think Big Pharma was thrilled to hear that,” Trump said. “In fact, I've always gotten along very well with him. I've known him for a long time. He's a different kind of guy. He's very smart, a great guy and very honest about this. I mean, he really is.'' You know, he thinks we're spending a lot of money on pesticides and stuff, and it ends up being terrible. ”
