Former President Trump shared a heartwarming moment with his grandchildren at a rally in the battleground state of North Carolina on Saturday.
The Republican candidate brought his grandchildren Luke and Carolina Trump, the young children of Eric and Lara Trump, onto the stage while addressing rally-goers in Wilmington.
“I have a very important member of my family, someone much more important than Eric and Lara,” Trump joked to the audience, “and her name is Carolina.”
“She's beautiful and kind and doesn't know how evil life can be,” he added. “Can I get Carolina to come up here? Is that possible?”

A few minutes later, Trump reappeared at the podium carrying his 5-year-old granddaughter and bringing her up to the microphone.
“Let's make America great again,” Carolina said, confusing “America” with “Americans.”
The crowd erupted in cheers before Trump introduced Luke and invited him onto the stage.
“Does anybody want to meet Luke? Her brother? Luke, come over here,” the Republican said, picking up his grandson and leading him to the podium.

“Vote for Grandpa,” 7-year-old Luke told the cheering crowd, which elicited huge cheers in response, after Trump told the audience he had actually asked Luke to say something different.
“I cutely whispered in his ear, 'Say MAGA,'” the presidential candidate said. “He said, 'Vote for Grandpa.'”
“He didn't care what I had to say, and it was actually a lot better that way.”
Trump added that his daughter-in-law, Lara, grew up in North Carolina, before continuing with the rest of his speech against his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris. At the start of the rally, Trump stressed the importance of encouraging people to vote in North Carolina.
